Free Cyber Security training from The NCSC

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) offers great quality cyber security training for free. This is a great example of one of the many ways The NCSC works to protect UK organisations from threat.

Enlighted organisations know that employees are both the first line of defence and the greatest risk vector when it comes to cyber security. Training staff members so they know their responsibilities and expected behaviours is the best approach to strengthening defence and mitigating risk.

Unfortunately, there is much cyber security training that is expensive and of poor quality.

The NCSC has therefore stepped-in to provide good quality and concise cyber security training. Targeted at organisations that lack an existing cyber security training programme, it is perfect for individuals, SOHOs and SMEs:

I have also helped evaluate this training for a corporate customer, although I narrowly rejected it in favour of an excellent quality commercial offering that was slightly more comprehensive and integrated with their existing Learning Management System. Without the integration, it would also have been a good choice for corporate as well as smaller organisations.

Using the training

To access the training, simple direct your staff to the link above and instruct them to follow the course. The course is entirely free and is immediately accessible without requiring sign-up. It is concise, delivered in jargon-free language and can be completed in around 20 to 30 minutes.
